Shanghai Pudong Charity Hospital is the first charity hospital in China and it is also the only one depends solely on social support in Shanghai. The hospital is founded by the government of Pudong New Area in January 2002.Compared with other comprehensive hospitals and specialty ones, there are totally different significance and conceptions in the charity hospital. The usual hospital charges fully according to medical treatment and medicine they prescribe. But with the stop of lifelong protection and welfare systems in state-own companies, many retired middle-aged or aged people and laid-off workers who live under the poverty line are not able to afford medicine fee and enjoy basic medical protection. Shanghai Pudong Charity Hospital is founded in the need of these people. Our services include:

• Supply basic medical treatment for disadvantaged people who confirm to the stands of Pudong New Area government and have charitable medical card.
• Supply an elementary medical treatment and healthcare center for disadvantaged people in Pudong
  
• Send medicine to patients who live in poor and remote area in Pudong
  
• Build up net with other 27 charity clinic stations in order to make patients who have the charitable medical card get medical treatment from the handy clinic station.
