Shanghai Pudong Charity Hospital is established in January 2002 by the government of Shanghai Pudong New Area. With the leading group pointed directly by the Social Development Bureau of Pudong New Area, the hospital is administrated at the same time.

The fund and medicine mainly come from the social donation. According to the laws of donation of commonweal in People's Republic of China, individuals or companies that donate property to commonweal can enjoy favors in the individual income tax or company income tax. All companies or individuals that donate to our hospital will have the uniformed donation invoice issued by Shanghai Angel Charity Foundation.

At present, the charity hospital offers medical service to disadvantaged citizens with staff and equipments from Pudong Yangjing Community Health Service Center. But the independent finance system ensures hospital income from donation open to public and guarantees the transparency to donators.
